April Newsletter
Events:
As the temperature in South Florida warms with the arrival of spring, Catering by Saffron’s also turns up the heat and can be seen at the hottest events around town during the month of April. The fun and festivities began this past weekend with the 2009 Honda Grand Prix Races in St. Petersburg, where Catering by Saffron’s was the exclusive caterer for the open house at The Signature Building.   Chef Jackie prepared her one of a kind homemade crab cakes and her spicy beef empanada’s along side with other tasty tid bits to an exclusive architectural crowd. The event was a tremendous success and generated a wonderful turnout.

On April 18th the Soulful Arts Dance Academy will be holding their signature fundraiser. S.A.D.A is a non profit organization dedicated to inspiring and providing the opportunity to children of St. Petersburg a place get exposed to and learn the performing arts. It’s a wonderful place that needs support from the community to keep it going. Catering by Saffron’s will be a major sponsor at this event and would like to invite you to come support S.A.D.A and enjoy our great food.  For ticket information call: 727 -822-5555.

During April 24 and 25th  the Art in the Park and Beach Goes Pops festival will be held at the Historic Pass A Grill Beach. This weekend long party highlights local music and food from the St. Petersburgarea and will feature Catering by Saffron’s famous Jerk Chicken. We can be found at the park both days of the event, so treat yourself to a staycation -come to the beach, groove to some music & eat great food- all with out leaving town. See you there!

And on the side…….Greek Week:

During the month of March, Chef Jackie was asked to do a luncheon event in St. Petersburg. When reviewing the menu, the client asked her to create something special yet simple. For the event she created a Greek inspired lunch; consisting of Lemon Chicken, Roasted Potatoes and an authentic Greek salad. The attendee’s as well as the event planners were delighted with the idea as well as the scrumptious result, eating every last morsel of food. Needless to say this event was a huge success. When I asked the Chef about the inspitation for this menu she replied “When meeting with a potential customer the most important point I try to make is I cook with love and you will love what I cook. Creativity, love of  different culture’s and food make this such a great business for me. Even if its not on the menu- if the customer has a vision, idea, curiosity or what have you - we  at Catering by Saffron’s can and will make it happen” Deliciously if I might add.
